FEMA Prepares Holiday Gift Guide
Friday, 03 December 2010
This holiday season FEMA is reminding people how important it is to be prepared in advance for disasters that may strike. To help loved ones be prepared, FEMA has created a gift-giving guide that might help when choosing gifts for family members and friends. This is called the Resolve to Be Ready 2011 Initiative, which is part of FEMA's Ready Campaign and includes partners Citizen Corp and The Advertising Council.

Gift ideas that come with safety and preparedness in mind include items such as emergency generators, emergency mobile phones, portable radios and extra batteries, car kits, first aid kits, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, pet disaster kits, camping stove and fuel, emergency escape ladders, and National Flood Insurance. These are all gifts that help FEMA support citizens and first responders so that as a nation we are more prepared to handle, protect against, and recover from all emergency situations.
