Flights to Burbank

Members of Both ASTA and IATAN Welcome to our page dedicated to the city of Burbank, California. When flying in to Burbank, you will land at the Bob Hope Airport (BUR) which serves close to 5 million travelers per year. The airport is controlled by the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority and was previously known as the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport.

If you are without a car when visiting Burbank, there are numerous bus routes that can take you to the nearest Metro stations which are located in North Hollywood at Lankershim & Chandler Blvd's and at Universal City at Lankershim Blvd. & Universal Terrace Parkway. From the Metro, you can connect to most locations in the Los Angeles area.

The city is mainly comprised of middle-class neighborhoods and many of the residents are employed by the motion picture and television industry. Burbank has long been known as a center for the entertainment industry and is often called the "Media Capital of the World" by the press. There's good reason for this as many of the largest entertainment companies in the world are headquartered there, including Warner Brothers, NBC Universal, Viacom and The Walt Disney Company.

Due to this notoriety, the old 60's comedy show Laugh-In dubbed it "Beautiful Downtown Burbank" and it was the butt of many jokes on the old Tonight Show when Johnny Carson hosted it.

One other industry that has dominated Burbank is the aircraft industry, starting with the Lockheed Aircraft Company in the late 1920's.

Other attractions to be found in the city are the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, the Starlight Bowl, as well as tours at NBC and Warner Brothers.
