Hawaii is an active place, with celebrations and events happening every day on every island. Now Festivals of Hawaii has a new app that will link users to 100 different events that happen on the islands. This app can be used with iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch and is available for free from the iTunes Store.

The development of the app was sponsored by the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) and is ideal for anyone who lives in Hawaii or who is planning to travel there. Mike McCartney, President and CEO of HTA, says that this new app helps bring locals and travelers together in a unique way that allows them to explore the culture of the islands together.

Users can search for events by island, by category, or by location, which allows users to see what is happening in their vicinity. The app shows an event profile that has a picture of the event along with a description. The app also has GPS capability, which means that users can easily get directions to the event location.
