Hawaiian Airlines to Begin Flights to New York
Thursday, 17 November 2011
After focusing on expanding their service west to Korea and Japan, Hawaiian Airlines is now aiming to the east. The airline will begin their new nonstop flights to New York in June, with a nonstop flight from Honolulu and John F. Kennedy International Airport.

This will be the first time New Yorkers will have their own nonstop service to Hawaii, their only option prior to the new flight being a Continental Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey.

Chief executive of Hawaiian Holdings Inc., Mark Dunkerley, said that up until now New York has been underserviced and there are many New Yorkers who simply don't travel to Hawaii because of it. The airline plans to expand its service to all the major cities on the east coast, with New York being the first.
