Things are looking up for U.S. Convention Centers and hotels worldwide as hotels.com released its most recent version of the Hotel Price Index. The HPI reports that occupancy and hotel rates were up last year. Globally, hotel rates increased by and average of 2% when compared to the rates in 2009. Particularly, business hotels in Paris, Shanghai, Boston, Chicago, Paris, Hong Kong, and London experienced significant increases in their daily rates. In addition to these findings, the report has also given a heads-up as to which cities are the up-and-coming business cities for the coming year. In addition to the traditionally known business cities, such as New York, Paris, London, Las Vegas, and Orlando, there were a few new names on the map last year, including Singapore, Beijing, and Shanghai. All hotels that are prepared to accommodate business travelers are rated 3 to 5 stars and are fully equipped with all the amenities a business traveler requires. |
