Burlington, Vermont is now connected to Toronto, Canada thanks to Porter Airlines, which made its inaugural flight on Thursday, arriving in Toronto at 4:10 pm. Lawrence Miller, Vermont Secretary of Commerce, said that Toronto is a happening city that is growing by 100,000 people per year. A total of about 40 people, including Miller, were on the inaugural flight, which was done using a Bombardier Q400 aircraft. The flights will continue twice daily, on Thursdays and Sundays, through April and will open up access to the Vermont ski season to those in the north and the major ski resorts have invested $75,000 into marketing efforts and are offering special weekend deals in conjunction with flights to ensure that skiers make their way down. The new flight schedule will also increase business and leisure travel in both directions. Tickets start as low as $109 for a one-way trip. See the original Google News article for more details./
