Is There A Better Way To Conduct Air Travel Security Screening?
Wednesday, 22 December 2010
The busy holiday travel season is fast approaching and 3 out of 4 travelers feel that there must be a better way to perform security screening at airports. In addition, 8 out of 10 people would be supportive of a trusted traveler program that would allow them to pass through different and less cumbersome security screening, even though they have to submit to a background check and meet other criteria.

The survey that revealed these results also reveal that those surveyed would take an additional 2-3 trips per year if the screening process was easier. Those extra trips would create 888,000 jobs and bring in an additional $84.6 billion in revenues. President and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association, Roger Dow says that Americans want a better system and that the government needs to recognize this and act on it. Most people surveyed agree that Congress should make airport security a priority. Among concerns of those surveyed include the need to take of shoes when passing through a metal detector.
