|
Thursday, 07 October 2010 |
An important reminder has been issued by Carnival Cruise Lines to ensure that all cruise passengers are aware of which WHTI (Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative)-compliant documents they are required to have on-hand in order to depart and return to the same U.S. port when going on a cruise.
All travelers must have one of the following documents onboard the ship: a valid U.S. Passport, Passport card, an official copy of a Birth Certificate, an official copy of a Certificate of Naturalization, an Enhanced Driver's License, a Trusted Traveler Program Membership Card, or a Consular Report of Birth Abroad.
It is also important for travelers to know that copies of a U.S. Passport or Naturalization Papers will not be accepted. In addition, Baptism Certificates and hospital-issued Birth Certificates will not be allowed. Birth Certificates must be issued by the Department of Vital Statistics. It is also recommended that travelers bring with them a U.S. Passport that will be valid for at least six months after the date of departure as this will help facilitate easier disembarkation at ports of call.
