Sunday, 04 December 2011
Thursday, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Jose Luis Silva, stated that Korean Air will be begin flights to Peru next week. At the CADE 2011 Business Conference in Cuzco, Peru, Silva said that the first flights will be between Seoul and Lima and will occur weekly. This month will see three flights, departing Lima on December 8, 15, 22 and they will fly from Lima to Miami to Los Angeles to Seoul.

Plans for Korean Air to provide service to Peru were being made as early as October and the new government under President Ollanta has wanted to attract the service of an Asian airline into Peru in order to open up service to and from the Pacific Rim and increase tourism and business from that part of the world. It is the goal of Peru to be the business and tourism hub for South America for all the Pacific Rim countries.
