Lufthansa is seeking expansion and while it already offers daily flights to Vancouver, the city is still high on their list of expansion priorities. Lufthansa's director of corporate sales and regions, Don Bunkenburg, said in an interview on Wednesday that there is a lot of demand for travel between Europe and B.C. and Lufthansa not only brings in many German tourists, but they also offer those from B.C. access to Europe. The airline had planned to open up more flights to Vancouver three years ago, but with their expansion in China, those plans had to be put on hold. Bunkenburg stressed the importance of airlines forming alliances to make air travel easier for passengers and he also stated that the fees associated with flying are beginning to get out of hand.
