Tourists to Maui now have a new way to enjoy the sights and find their way around. The Maui GPS Tour Guide is a virtual tour guide that actually talks to tourists and they make their way around the island. This iPhone app is linked to the GPS in the user's iPhone or iPad and knows where the tourist is at all times. This means that it can let them know about the best beaches and attractions in the area and can tell tourists about the history of the area, as well as the unique flora and fauna that exists there. Cathy Pretorius, the developer of HawaiiGaga.com, says it is like having a Maui travel expert touring the island with you, having that guide right in your car. There are five different tours in the tour guide, including West Maui, South Maui, Central Maui, the Hana Highway, and Haleakala and between these five the entire island is covered. Once users decide the tours they want they purchase them from inside the app and even those users who do not have a GPS built into their iPhone, they can still make use of much information in the guides. |
