Mexico is the new popular place to travel according to the increase in international travelers to the country between January and May, 2011. The number of international travelers that have visited Mexico in the first five months of 2011 is greater than 9.5 million, which is a 2.1% increase over the same period the previous year. The growth in travelers between the first five months of 2010 and 2011 was noted particularly in those visiting from China (32.8%), Brazil (40.9%), and Russia (58.1%). If the rate of international visitors to Mexico continues on this trend the country will see a record-breaking number of visitors this year, beating out the previous 2010 record of 22.4 million. This increase in the number of tourists visiting Mexico is the result of efforts of the Mexico Tourism Board, who has teamed up with the private sector and industry to attract more tourists to the country.
