AppOven, LLC, which is based on Portland, has launched WindowSeat, a new app that tracks your flight without the need for a network connection. Travelers using the app must be on a continental U.S. flight and they can not only track their flight's progress, but also learn about the places over which they are flying and share information with friends. They do not need a consistent internet connection or GPS. Before users get on their flight they can choose from five flight paths, which are based on real-time, up-to-the-moment data. They will then enter their take off time and from there WindowSeat will do the rest, providing flight tracking and time left. During the flight users can adjust the flight time and location and the app will automatically calibrate the flight's speed. Key features of the app include tracking of all commercial flights on the continental U.S., regular updates, and a points-of-interest database. |
