Tips On Getting The Best Hotel Deals
Hotel Deals The Washington Post recently asked Charlyn Keating Chisholm, hotels and resorts expert for About.com for “insider” tips on getting hotel bargains. Her answers were enlightening. Among them:

Consider the timing of your trip. Weekends in resort destinations like Vegas are more expensive, while business destinations like New York offer better deals on weekends, when the bookings are lighter. Likewise, look at visiting tourist towns like New Orleans in the off-season (say, October) for better deals.

Figure out when you don’t want to go. If your destination attracts a lot of conventions, check out the city’s convention and visitor’s bureau first to see what’s scheduled. If a big festival or convention will be filling up all the hotels, you can bet that lodging will come with a hefty price tag. This is REALLY critical in Las Vegas where there are several major conventions per year that literally fill almost every room in town.

.Call the hotel directly. Sure, you should shop online to get an idea of what rooms will cost – but then call the hotel and find out what kind of a deal you can make. Many hotels promise to meet or beat online prices, and a lot of bigger properties have a number of different rates and room types within the hotel.Want to read more?
