Great Continental Breakfast 3 Months ago Karma: 0
After having just returned today from a mini vacation, I was reminded how nice it was to find a decent breakfast at the hotel to save the money (and time) of buying breakfast out.

I was happy to find hard boiled eggs and a waffle machine & batter as well as the usual danish, biscuits, cereal, toast, fruit, etc. It makes a diff. I didn't make a waffle and didn't have a lot, but I do like finding those eggs and "extras" in a continental hotel breakfast.

Last fall I stayed at a nice hotel in downtown Toronto and enjoyed a continental breakfast before checking out.

I happened to be staying there for free, but in general it increases the value of the stay when you're paying for a nice hotel room.

It really does, yes... takes a little bit of the sting out of having to pay over a hundred dollars to simply SLEEP somewhere. At least it's not having to go out and pay $20 for breakfast on top of the hotel fees.

I actually ended up paying a "tourism fee" when checking out yesterday. Sheesh!

Hehe You're right! I hadn't thought of it that way. Maybe they charge the tourism fee to cover the nicer breakfast... wouldn't *that* just stink?!

I had to pay the same fee for a free night at the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. But it was ok. The room in a 5 star hotel room for "free' was nice... of course I left my money on the casino machines.
