From MI to New England States 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
What a beautiful adventure, by car. Once you get out of MI and past the flatter lands heading into NY State the view just becomes breathtaking.

I much rather travel by car so you don't miss out on little pleasures like that.

A funny story is this was my first time out east. Never saw a moose! LOL

I was staying in a State campground in New Hampshire and early in the morning I heard a loud moose and a dog barking.

So I slowly peeked my head out of our little sky light in our dome tent. That darn moose was only about 10 feet away and the dog was running around it's feet biting at him and barking.

That moose could have just fell on the dog and killed it, but stood there almost playing back with it.

It was one of the most simple yet wonderful experiences I had on that trip.

That sounds like a great experience... I assume you weren't worried about the dog chasing the moose toward your tent and falling on you?

I'd love to visit the northeast part of the US. I've been to the Canadian maritimes, but I haven't been east of Watertown in NY state.

I'm glad you were able to go slow and enjoy this trip. We used to make this trip every year to Lake Orion, Michigan to Massachusetts. We would travel one way through the USA, and the other way through Canada.

This is absolutely the way I feel, too... I'd miss so much traveling any other way.

Moose in New Hampshire! Well that's a new one to me... I would have thought they'd be way further west... like Alaska.

Sounds like a great trip you had!

Nope, I live in Massachusetts and we once had a moose wander down our main street on more than one occasion. We even have signs on some of our highways that warn of "moose crossing"
