Bordeaux hotel 5 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
If you're planning to visit the wine regions of France or the castles, you might want to stop in Bordeaux. The Hotel Regina (www.hotelreginabordeaux.com)costs an amazing 29 Euros a night for a sinle room with shower (toilet just down the hall). It's right across the street from the train station, an area that's a bit skecthy at night, but the hotel is housed in a historic building with stained glass windows and clean but pared down rooms.

I was with ya there until you said "toilet just down the hall." I think I'd rather pay more and at least have *that* amenity in my room.

Well, actually I would have preferred to have that in my room also, but the place was pretty full and the better equipped rooms were gone. They do have rooms with private bath for very decent rates, just not as low as 20-some-odd Euros, and if it's only for one night...I can deal.

Gotta go with Katharina on that one! Stained glass windows is a real temptation, but I'm afraid a public loo is the deal-breaker...

Just can't see myself having to leave the room for a public potty at 2 a.m. A shower I could do without... just give me a wash cloth and the soap at a sink. But the potty must be nearby.

How much is 29 Euros in American money? A sketchy area and no private bathroom, that's not an attractive option for me.
