I don't know that I'd call them flashpackers, but the majority of the guests that we welcome (we're wwoof hosts) come equiped with laptops, iPods and digital cameras. That's all age groups.

That's graet, GreenMoo. I used to WWOOF! Where are you hosts and what sort of work have your wwoofers carried out for you? Was it a good experience?

I have not seen these older hostelers. I have been traveling in Asia lately and have seen a lot of young unwashed college kids with backpacks, but nobody my age or older. I think it's a great idea though.

I've found that it is cheaper and a lot more comfortable to carry extra memory sticks with me. That way I'll have everything I need in there instead of taking with me my laptop. the memory cases are soooo much smaller!!

I wanna be a flashpacker. That sounds like my kind of traveling! Comfort with adventure, my kind of trip.

Well if traveling with techno gear makes you a flashpacker, then I am one. Me on a trip without my cellphone, digital camera and laptop would NOT be a pretty sight.

I'm also not so sure it would be safe!
