A good friend of mine is into collecting comicbooks and was wondering if there are any special package deals on accomadations when attending a convention?

Debrajean,

Most conventions offer special hotel deals for attendees. Usually these deals are sold out quickly depending of course on the popularity of the convention subject.

When planning your next convention, check out the web site of the organizer to see if they are offering deals.

Yep. I have been to many conventions where the organizers have established a relationship with a local hotel. The prices usually can't be beat.

True! and that applies not only for conventions, but also for special events. I remember I went to L.A. to apply for a job many years ago. People had to take a test, and there were at least 1500 applicants. But they had a pretty good deal with airline and hotel accommodations.

Very true... and even if it's not announced, it's surely worth asking about. It may be surprising the lengths places will go to assure that convention-goers are happy.

I've never attended a convention, but I've done a little temp work for an organization that puts one on, and delegates definitely call them to try to get a suggestion for convenient and inexpensive rooms.

And I agree that it would be a good idea to inquire as early as possible.
