I am currently planning a trip from Istanbul, Turkey to the USA (Portland OR, PDX). I would like to know if I can purchase a flight from this site at the rate listed but include a two or three days layover in London to visit some friends. Any information about this would be helpful.

That is very doable. Let me outline how to do this.

Go to BargainTravel.com and find itineraries that 1) match your price 2) match your dates (without the stopover) and 3) have a return connection through London. Don't order online. Copy that itinerary and email it to me. I will forward it to the consolidator with a request for a 1 or 2 days stopover, whatever you request. They will let me know if it is possible with that particular airline (it usually is) and what the stopover fee will be. Stopover fees usually $50 to $150. Then you would OK it and I would get your payment information.

Pretty easy.

Thanks for getting back. The dates I'm looking for are to fly from Istanbul on April 25, 26, or 27 2009 (I'm not sure which date will yield the lowest price. I'd like two days in the UK. Then, there is a non-stop flight from Heathrow to Portland, OR, USA. I'd like to return, without the stopover to Istanbul around May 16 or 17. I saw that there were some "direct" flights from Istanbul to Portland for around $1,200 round trip and I'm just comparing price differences. Thanks.
