The Yotel - 2008/04/20 10:20 Has anyone tried this yet???? A mini hotel in the airport.

The first of this innovated idea began at Londonīs Gatwick which consists of 46 premium twin rooms and standard cabins. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, room service, in cabin entertainment of flat screen TVs with over 60 stations and can be booked in as little as four hour's time to overnight.

Another one is soon to open in Amsterdam.

As many things are costly at the airport, surprisingly the Yotel is relatively inexpensive.

It is almost impossible to find a hotel room outside the airport or in London itself to match that price. A premium cabin will run 80USD for four hours to 160USD overnight. All cabins can accommodate two people, possibly 3 with a child.

I think this is a great idea, especially for a long stopover or to stay the night before an early AM flight.

Re:The Yotel - 2008/05/03 11:08 What a wonderful idea! I could have used this when I was planning my last cruise. My flight departed at some ungodly hour like 6 am, and I had to wake up at 3am and drive to the airport in what was practically the middle of the night. So much more convenient to have just spent the night at the airport...

Re:The Yotel - 2008/05/09 11:29 This is a very good tip! Specially if you get cheap tickets and the transfer to another flight on the way is too long. I would consider it if I have to take London as a connection!
