rose garden - 2008/03/23 15:06 Somewhere off of 1st street and bordered by the Willamette (wil-LAM-et if you want to sound like a native)River in Eugene, Oregon, there is a beautiful rose garden. There are varieties galore and all are identified by their name in case you might like to plant a bush at home. The perfume that these lovely roses exhale is enough to intoxicate your senses to the point where you could lay down on the grass and just luxuriate in the scent. There are usually not any kind of crowd there so you are free to ramble at your own pace. This garden is guaranteed to give you the most peaceable, transcendent mood imaginable; it could probably take numbers off your blood pressure as well!

Re:rose garden - 2008/03/31 10:39 I really need to get back to Oregon. I have such fond memories of visiting friends in Portland and Eugene. It really is a beautiful part of the country, you are fortunate to live there.

Re:rose garden - 2008/04/11 17:40 In many places around Maine, they have these types of summer garden walks. I've been to a few and they make for a relaxing afternoon. And some to the gardens are simply too stunning to even try and explain. They truly do express the meaning...a picture is worth a thousand words.

Re:rose garden - 2008/04/19 10:06 Good to know! I have a couple of friends in Oregon, and they say it is so beatiful. I've been tempted to go, but so far I haven't been able to make that trip.

Well now that post was a work of art! You made me see and smell those roses and that was very relaxing today. Thank you! I've never been to Oregon and it's not in the immediate plans, but this sounds like a lovely spot.
