Everyone loves a good picnic, but imagine having one on a bridge suspended 164 feet above the water. This was the scene at this year's Crave Sidney International Food Festival, where the world's largest picnic ever was held on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The picnic has a record attendance of 7500 people and they were served breakfast while enjoying the view.
The Crave Sydney International Food Festival lasts for a month during which time food from every corner of the globe is tasted and celebrated. There are numerous locations at which festivities are held, including parts of Sydney and across New South Wales. An amazing 11,000 square meters of the bridge was covered in turf and to open the picnic and show support for Australia's 2022 FIFA World Cup, a 4 foot high football was rolled down the turf. The picnic was attended by 6000 locals and more than 1000 international tourists. |
