SageMother I haven't stayed off strip, but if you stay in one of the family oriented hotels, like Circus Circus, you often find cheaper room rates.

Circus Circus also has a motor home campground area in the back, which is another option if you aren't looking for luxury.
SageMother The last time I was in Vegas, it was still rather family oriented, which is why I found Laughlin so wonderful!

LOL
Taggart I haven't been to Las Vegas for several years, but in the years that we were going there, we were under the growing impression that you probably didn't want to go too far off of the strip, for safety reasons.

I hear that Vegas is much more family oriented now.

Do you think that this is less of a concern now?

I want to say that we payed around 100 per night and it had a separate living and sleeping area.. and a fridge. It was pretty far off the strip.. it wasn't a Days Inn, but it was about that same quality.

How far off the strip were you, zmma? And what was the name of the hotel? Did you have to use a taxi for everywhere you wanted to go? I know they have buses on the Strip, but do they go off the Strip?

debrajean Do you have a price range as to what these hotels might cost? The last time we were in Vegas, we stayed at The Flamingo.
