The a href="http://mv.vatican.va/3_EN/pages/MV_Home.html" target="_blank">Vatican Museums are ready to help the victims of the earthquake that struck the Abruzzo region on April 6. The museums will be opening their doors on Sunday, May 10, 2009, and all proceeds from the admission fees collected will go straight to those people left homeless by the earthquake in an effort to help those families start their lives anew. The museums are usually closed on Sundays, save the final Sunday each month when the admission is free. However, the Guardians of the Vatican Museums made the suggestion that the Governorate of the Vatican City State donate the fees collected from selling admission tickets to the homeless families. They agreed and the museums will be open on May 10 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, with the last entrance allowed at 12:30 pm that day. The adult admission price is €14 ($18.60). For more information, please visit the Vatican Museums website. |
