Third Day of Flight Cancelations for Hail Damaged American Eagle
Thursday, 05 April 2012
For the third day in a row, American Eagles Airlines has had to cancel hundreds of flights at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport as they inspect and repair aircraft that were damaged by hail during the severe storms and tornadoes ravaged northern Texas on Tuesday. A total of 323 flights will be grounded today, which brings the three-day total to nearly 1300 flight cancelations as Dallas/Fort Worth is a huge hub for the airline.

Andrea Huguely, a spokesperson for the airline, said that it will be a few days before flight schedules get back to normal. She said it all hinges on how much damage has been done to the aircraft and how long it will take to makes the needed repairs. A total of 63 American Eagle aircraft are currently out of service, which is down from the 101 aircraft that were down earlier in the week. Some planes were significantly damaged during the storms.
