On Tuesday Tiger Airways, based in Singapore, was granted permission by the Civil Aviation Safety Association of Australia (CASA) to increase their number of flights over the Christmas and holiday season. The company has said that they have been allowed to operate a maximum of 32 flights per day, which is up from the 22 flights per day that they are currently allowed to offer. Previously, in July, CASA had grounded Tiger's Australian fleet due to concerns of air safety, but now the airline has been granted the additional flights with no issues. The airline operates out of Melbourne and the additional flights will include two extra daily round trip flights to Sydney and one additional round trip flight to Brisbane, Perth, and the Gold Coast.
