Time To Visit DC For The Cherry Blossoms
Tuesday, 09 March 2010
Over three incredible weekends from March 27 to April 11, Washington, D.C. is hosting its annual National Cherry Blossom Festival. This year promises to be full of cherry blossom fun and the peak of the bloom of the cherry trees that line the Tidal Basin is expected to be between April 3 and 8, according to the National Parks Service. Washington's official convention and tourism organization, Destination DC, warmly welcomes tourists to check out the city's celebration of cherry blossoms and spring.

As usual, everyone is getting into the cherry blossom mood. More than 70 restaurants in the D.C. will be serving up cherry-inspired fare. These “Cherry Picks” will include not only wonderful desserts, but also entrees and cocktails and other fine drinks. How about Cherry Lamb Jus or Roasted Lamb with Celery Root Puree? Maybe a Cherry Ice Cream Sandwich? These are just some of the very tempting delectables that are being featured. For a full menu from the participating restaurants, please visit Washington.org/cherryblossom.
