|Going On A Staycation? Read These Tire Safety Tips First|

For those who have decided to do a satiation this summer, road trips are very likely in the immediate future. The last thing anyone wants on a road trip is a flat tire and since it is National Tire Safety Week AutoWeek magazine has decided that this is a great time to share some tire safety tips with summer travelers.
The Rubber Manufacturers Association stated that 80% of people do not know how to properly inflate their tires and that only 20% of drivers actually check their tire pressure each month. In addition, AAA expects to help a whopping 1.2 million drivers on the road with issues related to their tires.
In order to keep tires healthy and ready for the road drivers must follow these recommendations: check the tire pressure at least once per month, rotate the tires every 6000 to 8000 miles, check the tire treads to ensure they have a depth of at least 4/32 inches, ensure the tires with the deepest treads are at the rear of the vehicle, and ensure proper wheel alignment.
