U.S. Passport The U.S. Department of State is holding a national outreach event, "Passport Day in the USA," today, Saturday, March 28th. The event is being held to inform the public about U.S. travel document requirements and encourage Americans to apply for passports and passport cards.

In addition to hundreds of post offices, town offices and other government facilities where passports are accepted, more than a dozen passport agencies in major cities around the country will hold walk-in hours Saturday with no appointment necessary. Locations for these passport agencies include Boston, New York, Chicago, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C., New Orleans, Norwalk, CT, Aurora, CO, and Portsmouth, NH.

Hours of operation will vary by location. you can find the hours as well as information on fees and how to apply for a passport book or passport card on the U.S. Department of State web portal. You can also get information by phone at 877-487-2778.

Beginning on June 1, travelers will be required to present documents proving both citizenship and identity when entering the U.S. by land or sea from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean or Bermuda.
