Traveling With A Pet Is A Growing Trend
Wednesday, 05 May 2010
Traveling with pets is increasingly popular among pet owners and PetRelocation.com recently conducted a survey to find out just how popular it is. Their first annual Summer Pet Travel Survey revealed that a whopping 61% of pet owners travel with their pets a minimum distance of 50 miles at least once per year. It was also found that 61% of pet owners travel with their dogs and 33% travel with their cats.

The survey also revealed that 57% of pet owners are planning on traveling within the next 3 months and 33% plan on doing so within the next year. The majority of pet owners (71%) have not traveled internationally with their pets, but 51% of them are planning to do so within the next year, with nearly half of them already making travel plans. The biggest concerns people who travel with their pets have are the hefty fees associated with pet travel and the lack of pet-friendly airlines.
