A new web site allows you to view the photos taken by other people on their vacations of locations you may be thinking about visiting. These are real travelers taking their own personal amateur photos, so you can get an impression of what your next destination may look like. None of the fancy, glossy professional photos found in brochures, just real, and sometimes poorly shot images. The site, StoodThere.com, is different from other photo sharing sites in that when you add a picture to the site, you are required to connect it to a place. This allows users to share places, and to add that place to their own favorite lists. The site has easy to use directions, a top 100 functionality, a wall with clickable images and a Google Maps mashup that allows you to quickly identify a spot on the globe that is featured in their site. All in all an interesting site and we wish them well with their concept. |
