Vision Airlines Removes Florida and Atlanta Flights
Tuesday, 24 January 2012
Vision Airlines, the discount airline, has stopped flights from Lousiville to Florida and Atlanta. Early in the month the airline ended flights to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Meyers, Destin, and Orlando and flights to Atlanta will be done as of the end of February. So far there has been no indication that the airline will halt flights to the Grand Bahama Island, which are scheduled twice weekly.

Spokeswoman for the airline, Gini Strobel, has offered assurances that the airline is not planning to pull out of Louisville completely, but that they need time to plan their next moves. The airline currently owes the Louisville Regional Airport $197,000 in past-due fees. The airline hopes to restructure their routes and move away from the smaller aircraft, that hold 32 passengers, in favor of Boeing 737s, whic can accommodate 136 passengers.
