Visiting Los Angeles for Mummies Of The World Exhibition

The world-debut of Mummies of the World is coming to Los Angeles, opening on July 1, 2010. This is biggest ever traveling exhibition of mummies in the world and will showcase mummies that were intentionally preserved and those that were preserved accidentally. Due respect is shown to all mummies as people are able to connect with the science and history of mummification and experience the richness of human culture through the exhibit.

There will be more than 150 artifacts on display and the science behind the study of mummies will let people see how they can be used to look into the past. There are mummies from ancient Egypt as well as Europe, Oceana, Asia, and South America those attending can see how mummification can occur due to natural processes, such as hot, dry desert sands or in an icy environment. The exhibition will be touring throughout the U.S. for three years and during that time will visit museums in six different U.S. cities.
