With more than 800 entrants in the World's Unluckiest Traveler contest, the list is down to 11 finalists and these really are some unlucky stories. Among these finalists are a honeymooning couple who had everything happen from lost luggage to flight delays and only ended up with a 24-hour honeymoon. Then there was the poor doctor who fell 30 feet and broke both his legs. And then there were the students who were on a catamaran in a storm, with loads of other people, and who then got food poisoning. The winner of the contest receives a vacation valued at $10,000 and, of course, the title of World's Unluckiest Traveler. The finalists will be competing through to December 31, 2010 to secure votes and then the winner will be announced. People can vote on the TravelGuard website and one lucky voter selected at random will also win a $10,000 vacation. |
