Zagat Airline Survey Ranks Virgin America First

Virgin America, which is based out of California, has been ranked as the number one domestic mid-sized carrier in the 2009 Zagat Global Airline Survey. This survey had more than 5000 frequent flyers participating and the airlines was chosen as first on both First Class and Economy categories. In addition, the airline was ranked first for First Class service (with a score of 24) and first for Main Cabin service (with a score of 21). These results were far ahead of all other major U.S. carriers.
Virgin America has one of the youngest fleets in the industry and is also one of the most fuel efficient fleets around, which allowed it to rank near the top when it comes to its sustainable business practices.
