Too Much Information at the Miami Zoo
Wednesday, 01 November 2006
ImageSeeing lots and lots of poop may certainly be an occupational hazard of life in the zoo, but the fine folks at the Miami Zoo also see it as an educational opportunity. You may find the world’s largest display of fun facts about “scat” a bit odd, but your kids will probably find it fascinating. Through January 10, 2007, you can catch the world’s largest educational exhibit ever created to let visitors know more than they probably ever wanted to know about the #2 thing that everybody does. Interactive exhibits and, dare we say, “hands-on” learning labs cover everything from a scale that tells you how long it takes an African elephant to poop your body weight, dung beetle races, examining fecal samples in a vet’s office and a photo opportunity in a replica outhouse.

If this doesn’t get your kids interested in science, probably nothing will.
